Project description:
A 14-channel media installation represents synchronized life cycles of 14 neutron stars (radiopulsars) that were presented on the Pulsar Map on plaques of Pioneer and Voyager spacecraft.

It creates a spatial experience of people/stars co-habitation, actualizes topics of time relativity and temporal changings. Installation condenses immense cosmic time and space scales to the comprehensible human dimension. It was created a mathematical model of the physical evolution of these neutron stars that based on astrophysical data and research. Changing of physical parameters in the model affect sound synthesis parameters and represent deceleration character of neutron star rotation during the evolution.

Hanged sound baffles contain binary encrypted parameters of pulsar periods and luminosity forming data poetics. The brightness of each light element is connected to the amplitude of the sound signal. It represents a metaphor of a pulsar as a cosmical beacon. The entrance hall that leads to main installation body reconstruct an aesthetics of post-soviet timeless scientifical atmosphere that representing the engineering background of artist, research, and production sides of the installation.
